The Reverend Eugene Neville reported hearing multiple gunshots early on the morning of June 11th and ran outside his Pleasant Street Church to find one of his parishioners lying on the sidewalk. The parishioner was 51 year old Jennifer Rodrigues Texeira, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Texeira's family said that she was an innocent bystander who was caught in the line of gunfire after she left the church. When the Reverend reached her, Texeira was conscious but bleeding heavily. Neville read her last rites. She was taken to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Frank J. Webb, 19, of Brockton has been charged the fatal shooting. The murder occurred around 1:42 p.m. at Main and Pleasant Streets and was the second murder this month and fifth this year in the area. State Police detectives from the Plymouth County district attorney's office and the Brockton police detectives are currently investigating the shooting.
